Dojo Etiquette Basics

     


Guidelines for entering / training inside the dojo are posted at the door.  

Desert Aikikai follows coronavirus  guidelines for both city and state.

    WEDNESDAY 5:00 - 6:30 PM and FRIDAY 5:00 - 6:30 PM (dojo) 

 TUESDAY / THURSDAY 4:45 - 5:45 PM returning FALL 2024 at Mesa Community College

Please respect our training area and each other.


Leave shoes at the door


Please wear gi (plain, white gi preferred) or comfortable, loose-fitting clothing which cover your knees (leggings are not recommended).


Please sign waiver and arrange for mat fees prior to training.


If you or your training partner are injured during training,
notify Sensei immediately.


If you are late for class, change into your gi and sit on the mat edge formally seated, until the instructor signals permission for you to join the class.


To help keep the mats clean, ALL students are expected to assist with mat clean-up after class has ended.


Sensei is happy to have a discussion with you in person, but reserve talking, questions for before or after class times.


For those who are concerned with contracting coronavirus, please feel free to wear your mask over your nose and mouth, wash hands regularly, do not touch your face, and use hand sanitizer as often as needed.
